Only a week and a half left before I leave to China and I think its finally to the point where I am excited. All the burdens of planning and obtaining finances are out of the way and my mind is free to dictate how it wants to fantasize my trip to the "Middle Country." At the top of the list of things I am looking forward to are: food, mountains, and I want to see a Panda (although there are supposed to be some cool riverboat tours as well, definitely in the running).
I'm encouraged that I decided to go on this trip. I have a knack for talking about doing things and letting them fall to the wayside. I have many projects and ideas that have in this way been left to rot in repose.
I'm going to keep this as my blog while I am overseas. I don't know how well I'll be able to keep up with all of my friends and loved ones individually but I want everyone who is interested to be able to know how I am doing and hopefully give me feedback on how things are here.
Things have really changed fast. This summer was quite a transition seeing friends move, find jobs, and change in ways good and bad. This is one of the most exciting things I've decided to do and I think it will no doubt a profound effect on me.
I was going to put a picture of Bilbo Baggins here...but this is so much better:
